Our company’s founder, Şener Gençer, was born in 1960 in the Bayındır district of İzmir.

He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Bayındır and graduated in 1983 from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Marketing at Ege University.

Şener Gençer began his business life at an early age in his father’s grocery store in Bayındır. During his university years, in 1982, he founded İZBAY Ticaret and took his first steps into the plastics industry by trading wholesale packaging materials.

In 1992, he established İleri Plastik, where he still serves as Chairman of the Board, and began producing plastic films in İzmir’s Karabağlar district. In 1997, he founded Çağ Plastik, a marketing company.

Today, Çağ Plastik operates in the Pancar Organized Industrial Zone in İzmir’s Torbalı district with an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons. The company is recognized both domestically and internationally with its wide product range, including greenhouse films, mulch films, industrial polyethylene rolls, solarization films, and silage films.

For many years, Şener Gençer has served in various roles within business organizations. He was a Board Member of the Aegean Plastic Industrialists Association (EGEPLASDER), one of the most active NGOs in the Turkish plastics sector, from 2001 to 2020. Since 2020, he has been the Chairman of the Board of EGEPLASDER and also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Plastics Industrialists Federation.

In 2005, he joined the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO), one of Turkey’s most established business organizations, as a Council Member. Between 2008 and 2009, he served as a Board Member and continues today as the Chairman of EBSO’s 24th Plastic Packaging Professional Committee.

Within the scope of social responsibility projects, Şener Gençer has been actively involved in the Günay Hayat Foundation since 2010, which supports disadvantaged communities. He is married and the father of two children.
